RCAEM aims to support community led activity and strong local governance, increase the long term sustainability of rural communities and influence policies and services to achieve equity for rural communities by enabling the development of a sustainable Rural Community Action Network supporting the five rural Community Councils (RCC's), in the region - these are:
Rural Community Action Nottinghamshire
Community Lincs
Rural Community Council of Leicestershire & Rutland
Derbyshire Rural Community Council
Northamptonshire ACRE
Rural Community Action East Midlands is a company limited by guarantee which previously operated as the East Midlands Acre Network (EMAN). EMAN became RCAEM in 2009 in order to position the network in line with the national initiative, the Rural Community Action Network, which is the collective name for the 38 Rural Community Councils throughout England, their eight regional bodies and their national umbrella Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE).
