Grow & Grow

Rural Community Action Nottinghamshire (RCAN) is delivering a five year Big Lottery ‘Reaching Communities’ grant funded food project in the Borough of Broxtowe. The project is called ‘Grow & Grow’ as this describes exactly what the project is all about!

This name is a natural choice for a project that uses food growing as a vehicle for personal and community growth. This ‘growth’ is just as important as all the potential health benefits gained from growing and eating the wonderful healthy vegetables being grown.

This project is defined by tangible results! Alan Withington is the Grow & Grow Development Officer. He is a trained and experienced horticulturalist with broad ranging community development and construction skills too. Alan says: “The Grow & Grow project is a one stop shop! We will work with Children’s Centres, schools, playgroups and groups of all ages. We can help you develop your ideas and support you to make growing successful. We can even help you build your community garden, beds and planters ‘hands on’ so every ounce of achievement belongs to you!”

Big Lottery logoRCAN would like to thank the Big Lottery, who have provided some of the funding for this project.
