 | CO2 Partnership Engagement | |
 |
Funding has been secured from the East Midlands Improvement & Efficiency Partnership (EM IEP) for engaging with and supporting partner organisations, primarily within the public and 3rd sectors, to reduce per capita carbon emissions through collaborative working. The work is being led by RCAN with the support of the climate change social enterprise group Marches Energy Agency.
The project title is CO2 Reduction Partnership Engagement (COPE), and the team will engage and support partner organisations and their staff from across all Local Strategic Partnerships (LSPs) in Nottinghamshire. The primary aim is to act as an ‘Honest Broker’, providing support, guidance, information, and training and to help the partners access what they need to make a difference to per capita emissions of carbon dioxide.
Environmental Champions is a group of RCAN staff who are working to ensure that the organisation follows as many green principles as practical, and sets a good example for the communities in which we work, our staff and friends.
Already RCAN have started an environmental group in 2007 – and in that time have started composting waste, reducing the amount of waste produced that goes to landfill, dramatically increasing the recycling rate, saved energy around the office and our homes, distributed energy-efficient lightbulbs and power- saving devices to Nottinghamshire residents, switched to ecologically friendly cleaning products, encouraged staff to travel less, and generally put green-thinking at the forefront of what we do! RCAN hope to carry on with these initiatives and introduce others within time.
