IT Community Champions is a project targeted at people aged 50+ living in Nottinghamshire. The aim of the scheme is to find people aged 50+ with an interest in IT and offer them the skills and support to train other individuals or groups wishing to learn new computer skills enabling access to greater independence, increased confidence and self esteem and greater opportunities.
Jane Jackman, IT Community Champions Project Co-ordinator said "We want to encourage people age 50+ in Nottinghamshire to gain computer skills easily through the support of their peers". The scheme is being funded via the Big Lottery and is available to anyone living in the Nottinghamshire area aged 50+. Interested in becoming an IT Champion?
To become a champion you must be: Aged 50+ A resident in Nottinghamshire Interested in learning basic computer skills Willing to share your new skills with others aged 50+ The project is looking for people who want to learn and for volunteers who already have some IT skills to help us deliver the programme.
