Country Park Ranger
RCAN JobsRural Community Action Notts (RCAN) has recently acquired 220 acres of land, formerly Newstead and Annesley pit tips, which is to be developed into a Country Park with the local community of Newstead.
NEWSTEAD ENTERPRISE Limited, as the venture is called, has been funded by the BIG Lottery Fund’s Village SOS Programme to help kick start a range of activities including building an innovative Visitor Centre with educational facilities, fishing lakes, and an events site. Income from these will help ensure the future sustainability of the local community by providing a beautiful and environmentally positive resource.

The role of the Park Ranger will be to help manage and maintain the physical and educational aspects of Newstead Country Park by working alongside the Project Manager, local residents and volunteers to develop the Park into a National Flagship project.

We therefore require a person with
• A huge amount of energy and enthusiasm
• Some training/practical experience in countryside/environment management
• Experience of working with community groups and volunteers.
In addition the postholder will be expected to give guided walks and talks, and deal with law breaking incidents and site emergencies.
The job description and person specification will describe the post more fully.
Additional benefits include a generous pension scheme and holiday allowances. So if you enjoy a challenge, want to find out more, or would like an application form, please click here or tel. O1623 727600.
Closing date for applications is 2nd August, interviews to be held w/c 9th August.
